One of the things that we think makes us stand out is our aim to build a strong, personal relationship with our clients. We want them to feel looked after, to feel that their ideas are listened and taken care of. We want them to feel special, and help them achieve their dream, however big or small, simple or ambitious it is.
Our clients bought this end-of-terrace property in Newquay some five years back, as they have always dreamt of moving to Cornwall, to live by the sea. They have so far used it as their holiday retreat, a place to disconnect from their day to day live. Until they realised that this is the life they wanted. It was time for them to convert their house in their home. A place for them to live, not just to visit. They contracted us to make their dream to finally become true.
We worked on a full re-design of this property, making sure that it offered our clients everything they always wished for. The main change: a “wrap around” extension at the back of the house that fully changes the layout of the ground floor, creating an open plan social room at the end of the property, linked to the existing courtyard, where kitchen, dining, kids play area, TV lounge… all cohabits as the new centre point of the house.
This extension, together with some other improvements to the existing build – a renovated entrance area at the front elevation, the addition of a big dormer facing the sea… – will also be an improvement to the street scene, smarting up a very busy corner of our town.
We were also contracted to carry out the Building Regulations package for this project, and have been involved in engaging all the parts of the actual building works that have already started, working together with Building Control, structural engineers, main contractor and, specially, our clients, who we can now call friends!
